In the field of space technology the development engineers of the HTS GmbH are familiar with conception, design, and verification of flight hardware as well as handling jigs and equipment.

Special requests of space technology like,

• lightweight designs,
• controlled functional safety,
• comprehensible development by accurate administration of the complete documentation,

will be fulfilled by our design department. Special experiences consist for the conception and design of the structural assemblies of carbon fibre reinforced plastics and its combination with parts of titanium or aluminium.

HTS GmbH has many experiences from several aerospace projects for the development of enable, extent and tracking mechanisms.

Selected projects are

• the design of the main structure and the imitator for the satellite GRACE,
• the development and design of special details of the Antenna Pointing Mechanism (APM) for the High Gain Antenna Major Assembly (HGAMA) of the satellite Rosetta,
• the design of details of the Vacuum Gas System (VGS) for the Material Science Laboratory (MSL) of the International Space Station (ISS) and
• the development of solar arrays made from flexible thin film solar cells.
