For most of the parts and assemblies used for aerospace applications the margins of safety with respect to:
- plasticity,
- fracture, and
- buckling
or in terms of
- overheating,
- undercooling, or
- too high temperature gradients,
or toward
- unallowable high deformations
have to be proven. These tasks will be accomplished by our engineers of the analysis department according to regulations of
- the European Space Agency (ESA-PSS),
- aviation standars (Aviation Handbook, Handbook for Structural Simulations),
- the regulation of American aerospace authorities NASA
- and the MIL standards.
Examples for our work at the field of analysis of aerospace are:
- design and simulation of air circulation cooling of the Nasmyth Tubes within the international project SOFIA,
- stress and deformation analysis at the mainly thermal loaded telescope actuation limb for the SOFIA project, and
- thermal and structural analysis for the High Gain Major Assembly (HGAMA) of the satellite Rosetta.
